Mayhem in the Market
Greetings fellow gamers, for far too long I've seen people standing in the marketplace looking for help for the quest "Mayhem in the Market". Of course I always recommend going with a group, cause it just a lot more fun, but my experience is that people aren't able to do it with henchies because of the big group you have to pass on your way to talk to the last guy, Guardsman Pei.
Now I will tell you how this is done much easier. When you recieve the part with going to talk to Guardsman Pei, instead of going the direction the star on the minimap tells you to, warp back to marketplace and go north into Bukdek Byway, and the star will now lead you in another direction, the amount of mobs will be alot fewer, and it will only take a little longer, good luck.

Sound advice.
The main reason why this area causes such problems is partially due to the speed of the game in Factions. You level up so fast on the starter island that you don't get a proper chance to refine your skills, or develop your character. After Zen Daijun you are thrust onto the mainland to face level 20 monsters, and as a new player may not realise Kaineng Center exists and max armour is obtainable there. You think you're doing fine, then wham! - you're thrown into a killer bunch of afflicted, fighting near a bridge with Kappa snaring you from below. To new players it's quite a daunting pert of the quest, but once past it, it's plain sailing.
I honestly believe that by completing a few of the secondary quests in Kaineng City, finishing levelling to 20, obtaining max armour, and more powerful skills, as well as acclimatising yourself to the new environment, it will help new players in the long run. Rather than trying to find ways around a problem, it's often more beneficial for later on to figure out how to "steam-roll" your way straight through the problem.

That's why I've always wondered why canthans leaving Shing Jea are brought to the Marteplace instead of Kaineng Center.
Kaineng Center has docks as well (so getting there from Seitung Harbor could have made sense). No mission brings you there as far as I remember, so I see why lots of newcomers never realize KC even exists and have hard times trying to reach Vizunah Square instead.

Your advice is good and will help many
Side note - If you are doing it they way it tells you to go. Right when you first get to the afflicted head north accross the bridge towards the Monk boss. If you head straight to the Necro boss it is a spawning nightmare and close patrols and you are easily overwhelmed.

I had to try Mayhem in the Market a lot of times before I was able to get through, and those were all with other players. A friend and I ended up going by ourselves with henchies and finished it in almost half the time - as long as someone has res, I found that we did okay.
Another thing to do would be to take the quest on in chunks, doing the first parts one at a time before having to get past Togo...less frustrating that way. But I agree, it is very difficult if you don't level up beforehand.

The point of doing this quest with the group was that it is the only opportunity for non-canthan characters to join canthan character and unlock vizunah local and make canthan cartographer easier. So I am really supporting players advertising that they are going to do this quest than players deciding to do this one alone.
